Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to help patients regain daily living skills
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of the supervising OTR and document patient progress accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create meaningful, patient-centered goals
- Educate patients and families on strategies for safety, independence, and community reintegration
- Monitor and adjust modalities and activities to meet changing patient needs while maintaining high standards of care
- Contribute to a positive clinical environment by mentoring support staff and sharing best practices
Qualifications
- Current COTA certification (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) — required
- Active state licensure/registration as required for New Hampshire practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented approach
- Prior experience in rehabilitation or related settings is a plus
Education
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
- COTA certification and state registration/licensure as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic activities to improve activities of daily living and functional independence
- Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records and tracking patient outcomes
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and safety recommendations
- Ability to prioritize caseload, manage time effectively, and adapt to patient needs
- Collaborative communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
