Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the PACU, guiding patients safely through the post-operative phase
• Monitor physiological responses and intervene promptly to ensure patient stability
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered pre-operative and post-operative care
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesia, and support staff to coordinate seamless patient transitions
• Maintain clinical competency through ongoing training, education, and adherence to practice standards
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and timely
• Participate in department initiatives to improve safety, quality, and patient experience

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure appropriate for Colorado
• Clinical competency in perioperative and surgical nursing, with PACU experience preferred
• Proven ability to monitor and respond to physiological patient changes in pre- and post-operative settings
• Willingness to complete required orientation, training, and competencies for surgical services
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary surgical team
