Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill patients across medical, surgical, CVICU and neuro ICU areas
• Deliver advanced life support interventions following ACLS, BLS and PALS protocols
• Operate and manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive infusions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and stabilize patients while coordinating higher-level care
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during high-stress situations
• Accurately document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the medical record
• Float to CVCU or ED as needed and adapt care to different unit workflows while maintaining quality

Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma RN license (OK state license) or Compact RN license accepted
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification current to 1 year required
• Completed skills checklist and up-to-date work history pertinent to critical care
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Comfortable working ICU staffing ratios (typical 1:2; occasional 1:3; floating to 1:4 in CVCU)
• Willingness to float to other units (CVCU, ED) and care for pediatric patients if needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing knowledge and ICU patient assessment
• Ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency with vasoactive drips, titration and infusion pumps
• ACLS, PALS and emergency response skills
• Experience with triage and holding area care in the ED
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Adaptability to work across multiple ICU types and changing patient placement
