Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, dignified personal care to residents, focusing on comfort and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate observations clearly to nursing staff
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
- Help create a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
- Document care activities accurately and timely to keep the care team informed
Qualifications
- Current GNA classification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required
- State-required certifications and licenses as applicable for Maryland
- Demonstrated compassion and experience working with older adults
- Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and communicate with the care team
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding and any required training
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical experience with ADLs and basic resident care
- Safe patient handling and transfer awareness
- Clear, kind communication with residents, families, and team members
- Basic observation skills to notice changes in resident status
- Teamwork mindset and reliability in a fast-paced care setting
