Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy care under the direction of the supervising therapist to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Deliver hands-on treatments, therapeutic exercises and mobility training with compassion and clinical precision
• Assist with gait training, transfers and use of assistive devices to promote safe function
• Document patient progress and treatment plans clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create coordinated, person-centered care plans
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and strategies to support recovery
• Maintain treatment area cleanliness and adhere to facility safety and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current PTA license in Kansas or eligibility to obtain Kansas state licensure prior to start
• Basic Life Support CPR certification required
• Previous experience in post-acute, outpatient, or long-term care settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and meet facility immunization requirements

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of all program clinical competencies

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise techniques
• Familiarity with mobility aids, safe transfer techniques and fall prevention
• Proficient documentation skills and ability to follow physician and PT plans of care
• Good clinical judgement and ability to adapt treatments to individual needs
• Comfortable working with medically complex patients and interdisciplinary teams
