Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret rhythm changes to keep patients safe
- Provide high-quality nursing care for telemetry patients, including medication administration and assessments
- Perform or assist with line placements and dialysis-related care as needed
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and transitions
- Respond rapidly to patient changes and escalate concerns according to unit protocol
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record and communicate handoffs clearly
- Support unit staffing needs and participate in team-based problem solving
Qualifications
- Current RN license (able to practice in the state of Virginia as required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with telemetry or cardiac experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Comfortable with line placements and basic dialysis patient care preferred
- Proven ability to work as a team player and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Strong cardiac care background and familiarity with PCU/SD and Med/Surg settings
- Hands-on experience with line placements and assisting in dialysis care
- Effective communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care
- Ability to manage patient ratios of approximately 1:5 to 1:6 and prioritize care
