Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for residents
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to preserve dignity and comfort
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Document resident care accurately and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and contribute to a warm, respectful environment
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent; high school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
- Able to take and record vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
- Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
- Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans
