Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist the therapy and nursing teams in Doctor's Rehab with resident mobility and exercises
- Monitor, observe and accurately record resident conditions and changes
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in resident charts and care plans
- Communicate effectively and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect residents and staff
- Support a positive, respectful environment that promotes resident dignity and independence
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
- Previous experience in geriatric, rehab, or long-term care settings is a plus
- Demonstrated compassion, reliability, and strong communication skills
- Ability to perform safe patient transfers and follow lifting protocols
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and resident hygiene
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Familiar with basic rehab support and mobility assistance
- Good documentation and charting practices
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal and resident-centered communication skills
