Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support safe transfers and ambulation to reduce falls and maintain mobility
- Assist with meal service and feeding while preserving residents dignity and comfort
- Monitor residents condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with the care team during shift handoffs and care planning to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Current state nurse aide registry listing or equivalent where applicable
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care or working with older adults is a plus
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic geriatric care
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Basic infection control and hygiene practices
- Accurate charting and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with residents and team members
