Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility, transfers and positioning while maintaining dignity
• Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive appropriate nourishment
• Document care accurately and timely to keep the care team informed
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
• Contribute to a clean, safe and comfortable living environment for all residents

Qualifications

• GNA certification required (Geriatric Nursing Assistant)
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Comfort working with older adults and a genuine interest in geriatric care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; punctual and dependable
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living helpful but not mandatory

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA program and current GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and infection control practices
• Able to perform safe resident transfers and use mobility aids correctly
• Familiarity with documentation practices in a clinical setting
• Excellent interpersonal skills to support resident-centered care
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes clearly to licensed staff
• Basic vital signs and observational skills to spot changes in condition
