Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, treating each individual with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report any changes to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Document care provided and observations accurately in the resident record to support continuity of care
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care and meaningful activities

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but not strictly required
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and geriatric needs
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Good documentation and observation skills
• Ability to work effectively on a team and follow care plans
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
