Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting—with dignity and compassion
• Support safe, compassionate feeding and mobility assistance for residents with special needs
• Monitor residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care activities, vital observations and resident needs accurately and timely
• Promote a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents at all times
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to support emotional well-being
• Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with the care team to achieve positive outcomes

Qualifications

• State-recognized Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated comfort working with older adults and a passion for geriatric care
• Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and communicate effectively with the care team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to pass facility-required background and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe resident handling
• Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
• Skill in observing and reporting clinical and behavioral changes
• Comfortable using electronic or paper charting systems
• Strong interpersonal skills—compassionate, patient, and respectful communication
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to follow direction from licensed nursing staff
