Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, Maryland
Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift; specific days not specified)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing and mobility
- Monitor and report resident changes to the nursing team to keep everyone safe
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and provide emotional support
Qualifications
- State GNA certification or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completed GNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and resident assistance techniques
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safe transfer techniques
- Ability to observe and document changes in resident condition
- Good interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
