Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (specific days not specified)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Measure and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records and communicate handoff details clearly
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents and coworkers safe
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide emotional support to enhance quality of life
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to help meet individualized care goals
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent in Maryland
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by the employer
- Background check and required clearances for patient care roles
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers; ability to stand and move throughout shift
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach with older adults
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living and geriatric care needs
- Familiarity with basic vital sign collection and reporting
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Clear documentation skills and basic comfort with electronic or paper charting
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management and prioritization skills during busy shift periods
