Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with mobility, bathing, dressing, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and follow facility policies
- Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, safe, and engaging environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift and delivering compassionate elder care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; respectful and patient-centered approach
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- CPR/BLS certification encouraged or available through the facility
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with geriatric care and dignity-focused patient assistance
- Ability to assist with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation/reporting skills
- Good documentation practices and following care plans
- Teamwork mindset and ability to follow direction from licensed nurses
