Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to promote dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, and toileting while using safe techniques
• Monitor and record vital signs and routine observations, reporting any changes to the nursing team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Support mealtime needs and document intake as required
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts to ensure continuity and quality
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, resident-centered culture

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification (preferred or obtain upon hire)
• Demonstrated experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Current immunizations and ability to pass facility-required screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
• Ability to work night shift hours and follow scheduled assignments

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care and resident assistance
• Understanding of infection control and safety practices
• Reliable documentation and basic charting skills
• Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition
• Teamwork and collaboration with nursing and therapy staff
• Time management skills to prioritize resident needs on shift
