Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding and mobility, ensuring resident comfort and safety
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
- Follow care plans and document resident care accurately and respectfully
- Support mealtime assistance including meal set-up and feeding when needed
- Participate in maintaining a clean, safe and home-like environment for residents
- Collaborate with the care team to promote person-centered care and positive resident experiences
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- Current state-required clearances and health screenings as applicable
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with resident care safely
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary care team
- Time management and prioritization in a busy care setting
