Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Deliver respectful, patient-centered care while promoting dignity and independence
- Monitor and document resident condition changes and report concerns to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning to prevent injury
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure nutrition and hydration needs are met
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification in good standing
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is preferred but new grads are welcome
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and TB testing as required
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and ADLs
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs
- Good observation and documentation skills
- Team player with dependable time management
