Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting and safe mobility to support independence
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition promptly
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
- Help create a positive, respectful environment that promotes dignity and comfort
- Support social and recreational activities to enhance residents' quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
- Basic communication skills and the ability to work well on a care team
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe transfer techniques
- Ability to observe, document and report changes in resident condition
- Basic infection control and resident safety practices
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable following care plans and working collaboratively with nursing staff
