Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfer residents, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to nursing staff
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that promotes comfort and well-being
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records as directed
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Collaborate with the care team and communicate clearly with residents and families

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• High school diploma or GED (see Education section for details)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Comfort working overnight hours and supporting residents during NOC
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Accurate documentation and charting basics
• Effective, respectful communication with residents and families
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
