Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to geriatric residents
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Support safe transfers and maintain resident comfort throughout the shift
- Observe, document, and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver meaningful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- GNA certification required (Geriatric Nursing Assistant credential)
- Experience or interest in geriatric nursing is a big plus
- Current, valid state-required certification/licenses to work as a GNA
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
- Ability to follow care plans and document accurately
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational knowledge of geriatric care and resident-centered practices
- Comfort assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living) and mobility support
- Basic observation and reporting skills for changes in resident condition
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
- Teamwork mindset and reliable time management
