Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Take and record basic vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
- Support mealtime needs and ensure residents receive assistance and appropriate nutrition
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and communicate clearly with the care team
- Help create a warm, home-like environment through meaningful interactions and engagement
Qualifications
- GNA certification (or state-equivalent geriatric nursing assistant certification) preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working with older adults and supporting ADLs with patience and respect
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification or equivalent required/preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs in a long-term care setting
- Skill in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Good observational skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
- Teamwork and clear communication with nurses, therapists, and families
