Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise nursing staff: hire, train, evaluate, assign, and delegate duties to maintain excellent resident care
• Coordinate and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards to meet State and Federal regulatory requirements
• Oversee case management, care planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure continuity of care
• Drive quality improvement by collecting, evaluating, and reporting monthly quality metrics (falls, skin, psychotropic meds, chart compliance)
• Provide continuing education and competency validation for nursing personnel
• Manage infection control practices and ensure compliance with TJC and other regulatory bodies
• Contribute to budget input and maintain monthly expense oversight for the unit
• Act as a patient advocate and resource for residents, families, and the care team

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice
• BSN required upon hire
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• 2-4 years supervisory or leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
• Working knowledge of State and Federal long-term care regulations and TJC standards
• Approved CPR certification within 90 days of hire
• Preferred certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BSN required upon hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Nursing leadership and staff supervision
• Regulatory compliance (State and Federal) and TJC experience
• Quality improvement and quality reporting (falls, skin, psychotropic medication monitoring)
• Care coordination and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Infection control best practices
• Case management and resident care planning
• Familiarity with reimbursement systems for long-term care
• Staff training, competency development, and performance evaluation
