Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients as an RN
• Perform continuous patient assessment and intervene promptly for changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies and titratable drips according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team — physicians, RTs, pharmacists and others — to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
• Support families with clear communication and empathetic updates during critical situations
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana (or compact license where applicable)
• Experience working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) — demonstrated critical care skills
• Comfort with 12.5-hour shift patterns and the ability to provide sustained focus in high-acuity settings
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) strongly encouraged or preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in critical care assessment and monitoring
• Familiarity with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication administration and infusion pump management
• Ability to prioritize and manage complex patient loads
• Competence with electronic medical records and documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families and the care team
