Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support for residents, making their comfort a priority
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding
- Monitor and document vital signs and resident conditions accurately and promptly
- Communicate changes in resident status to nursing staff and participate in care planning
- Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment for residents
- Support emotional and social needs through friendly interaction and engagement
- Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to ensure resident safety
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver consistent, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required)
- CPR or BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and patient transfers, following safe lifting practices
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus, but caring attitude matters most
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living and resident hygiene needs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Understanding of infection prevention and control practices
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
