Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the emergency department
Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to create efficient care plans
Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly in the chart
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Hawaii licensure required or eligibility to obtain
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
Experience or comfort working in an Emergency Department environment preferred
Ability to work 12+ hour shifts and respond to fast-paced, high-acuity situations
Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and communication skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency assessment expertise
IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
Familiarity with EHR documentation and effective charting practices
Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-pressure situations
Compassionate patient and family communication
Teamwork and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
