Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a busy ED environment
• Operate and monitor equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Document patient care thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and unit clerks to ensure smooth workflows
• Coach and mentor colleagues with real-time feedback to strengthen the team
• Support excellent patient experience using AIDET and respectful communication

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department and able to float within ED

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner documentation system
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and high acuity patient ratios (typical 4:1, up to 7:1 on behavioral holds)
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
• Strong triage, assessment and emergency care skills
• Teamwork, coaching/mentoring, and strong communication with diverse patient populations
• Patient-experience-focused practices (AIDET, ongoing patient updates)
