Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality progressive care to PCU/step-down patients, prioritizing safety and dignity
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced respiratory support for critically ill patients
• Assess and care for patients with arterial lines, central lines and complex dressing changes
• Assist with or support procedures such as thoracentesis as needed, in collaboration with the care team
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR
• Communicate proactively with physicians, therapists and support staff to coordinate care
• Provide compassionate patient and family education, especially during transitions of care
• Contribute to a positive unit culture through teamwork, mentorship and professional communication

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (state of practice required)
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• ICU or Step-Down/Progressive Care experience required
• At least one prior travel assignment (travel RN experience required)
• Current ACLS, BLS and NIHSS certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong competence with Cerner EMR for charting and orders
• Ventilator management and respiratory assessment skills
• Experience with arterial lines (A-lines), central line care and dressing changes
• Familiarity with thoracentesis and other unit procedures
• Ability to float to ED when needed and adapt to different acute care environments
• Excellent teamwork, clinical prioritization and communication skills
