Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography and CT examinations with professionalism and attention to patient comfort
• Apply radiation protection principles and maintain departmental quality assurance and QC programs
• Assist with invasive procedures including stereotactic breast biopsy and specimen radiography
• Administer contrast appropriately and adjust protocols for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Maintain accurate patient records, QC logs, and ensure proper teleradiology transmission
• Support patient transfers, follow sterile technique, and assist in supply inventory and ordering
• Rotate shifts as required and fulfill on-call duties when scheduled

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) required within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic exams in assigned modalities (mammography and CT)
• Mammography competency: meets ACR/FDA requirements (100 mammograms/year and 5 mammography CEUs annually)
• Willingness to learn and perform duties across multiple imaging modalities (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography)
• Able to take call and report to work within 20 minutes; travel to other SEARHC sites as needed

Education

• Current ARRT (Radiography) required
• ARDMS certification or additional modality certifications encouraged/valued
• Ongoing Mammography CEUs as required by ACR/FDA

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiographic and sonographic examination techniques
• Radiation protection and safety best practices
• Quality assurance and Quality Control (QC) procedures
• Contrast administration and venipuncture skills
• Sterile technique and assisting with invasive/interventional procedures
• Teleradiology transmission competency
• Familiarity with Mammography, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine workflows
• Clinical competency assessment and continuing education compliance
