Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, typically 3 shifts per week with some weekends (3x12)

Roles & Responsibilities

Triage patients quickly and accurately, prioritizing care based on acuity and patient flow needs
Assess and monitor patients’ physical and psychosocial status, documenting changes and escalating concerns to physicians or mid-level providers
Provide direct and indirect emergency care with autonomy and sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced setting
Administer IV therapy, medications, and treatments while ensuring patient safety and following protocol
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, mid-level providers, ED techs and registration staff — to coordinate efficient, compassionate care
Lead and give direction to allied health and support staff during your shift to maintain smooth ED operations

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license required
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
BLS and ACLS required; PALS, TNCC and ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
Comfortable with ED triage, rapid assessment, IV skills and emergency nursing principles

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and procedures
Triage and rapid patient assessment
IV skills and medication administration
Ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment
Basic computer and office skills for documentation and charting
Strong communication and teamwork abilities in high-acuity settings
Adaptability, clinical judgment, and ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition
