Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high acuity cardiac critical care for ICU patients, including post open heart care for 1 to 2 days postop
• Perform advanced procedures such as intubations and hemodynamic monitoring with precision and calm
• Manage continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and Impella heart pump patients when needed
• Respond as a designated critical care responder to rapid responses and code blue events
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate plans clearly to the care team and families
• Maintain patient experience standards by explaining care and medications, treating patients with courtesy, and responding to call lights promptly

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years ICU or cardiac critical care experience
• ACLS and BLS required
• CCRN certification is a plus
• Comfortable with post-op open heart care, Impella, CRRT, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Ability to float to other units and work participative/rotating schedules

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac critical care and ICU nursing skills
• Proficient with intubation and ventilator management
• Experience with CRRT and managing renal replacement equipment
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting advanced bedside data
• Familiarity with Impella device management
• Comfortable documenting in Meditech and working in fast paced critical care settings
• Calm, clear communicator during codes and rapid responses
