Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care and treatment for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and emphysema
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators including Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral to optimize patient ventilation
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide therapy decisions
• Initiate and manage noninvasive ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP) and nebulizer treatments
• Deliver chest physiotherapy (CPT) and other airway clearance techniques as indicated
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Respond quickly and effectively to respiratory emergencies and support critical care teams

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience required
• Trauma experience preferred
• Previous Meditech experience preferred by director
• Current state licensure and ability to meet travel assignment credentialing requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in mechanical ventilation management and weaning
• Competence with ventilator models: Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral
• Strong ABG analysis and interpretation
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizers and CPT
• Comfortable documenting and navigating Meditech EMR
• Critical thinking, teamwork, and strong communication with physicians and care teams
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume acute care environment
