Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging exams including X-ray and fluoroscopy, following department protocols and radiologist direction
• Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment (including C-arm and OR imaging) and call service engineers when needed
• Ensure radiation safety and ALARA practices are followed for patients and staff
• Verify orders, identify patients using two identifiers, obtain informed consent, and provide clear patient education about procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR and ensure proper charge capture for procedures and supplies
• Review patient medical history and prior studies to ensure completeness before submitting for radiologist interpretation
• Assist, train, and cross-train imaging staff and support clerical duties or patient transportation as needed
• Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory to keep the department running smoothly
• Participate in departmental quality improvement, required training, and compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (required)
• ARRT (R) registration in Radiology (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 90 days of hire
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must successfully pass background check, pre-employment drug screen, and any applicable breath alcohol test
• Preferred: prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT, MRI, DEXA, or Mammography
• Preferred: experience with electronic records including PACS and RIS/HIS

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiography and image acquisition best practices
• Fluoroscopy and C-arm operation in OR settings
• Radiation safety principles (ALARA) and patient safety
• Proficiency with EHR, PACS, and RIS/HIS systems
• Equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Strong patient communication, education, and documentation skills
• Ability to follow protocols, work independently, and support a collaborative team environment
