Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care hospital setting and determine appropriate treatment plans
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to improve function and mobility
• Use evidence-based procedures and techniques across orthopedic, neurologic and cardiopulmonary diagnoses
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, rehab techs and interdisciplinary team members
• Document patient status and progress using Cerner PowerChart accurately and timely
• Communicate evaluation results, progress and discharge plans to patients, families and staff

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (requested) or equivalent degree
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum experience: 2 years (as listed) with acute care experience preferred (at least 1 year preferred)
• Comfort treating orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary patients in an inpatient setting
• Experience with patient lifting equipment and safe mobility techniques

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient evaluation and care plan development skills
• Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart documentation
• Skilled in acute care procedures and interdisciplinary communication
• Proficient with patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove), walkers and gait belts
• Ability to manage 1:1 patient care and prioritize caseload in a busy rehab environment
