Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor status
• Administer medications, manage drips, and titrate therapies safely
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced monitoring equipment
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary staff
• Document care accurately and maintain clinical compliance and handoffs
• Educate patients and families about condition, care plans, and discharge needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (California) — must be able to practice in-state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred
• Critical care/ICU experience — confident managing ventilators and vasoactive drips
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills in high-acuity settings
• Comfortable working per-diem schedules and adapting to changing unit needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring
• Ventilator management and weaning basics
• IV therapy, central line care, and titration of vasoactive medications
• Rapid assessment and prioritization in critical care situations
• Clear, concise clinical documentation and effective shift handoffs
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced interdisciplinary environment
