Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans with empathy and clinical precision
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility support to help patients regain independence
• Monitor and document patient progress clearly and promptly to inform ongoing care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Ensure a safe, clean therapeutic environment and adhere to facility protocols and safety standards
• Adapt interventions to meet the needs of diverse patients across the continuum of care

Qualifications

• Current or eligible Physical Therapist Assistant license for the state of California
• Completion of an accredited PTA program
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
• Comfort working in a fast-paced rehabilitation setting and managing a varied caseload
• Up-to-date immunizations and any facility-required health screenings

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and functional mobility training
• Proficient with patient documentation and electronic medical records
• Knowledgeable about assistive devices, transfers, and safe patient handling
• Ability to assess patient response and modify interventions under PT direction
• Strong patient education and motivational coaching skills
• Team-oriented mindset with good clinical judgment and time management
