Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and ventilator management for adult, pediatric and NICU patients
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory devices including GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 and V60 non-invasive devices
• Deliver emergency respiratory interventions and participate in critical care procedures
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR (Cerner) and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Support transport and bedside procedures using transport ventilators and high-flow oxygen devices like Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Adapt quickly across units, floating to all critical care areas as needed to maintain excellent patient ratios and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina respiratory license (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP strongly preferred
• Comfortable working in high-acuity critical care and NICU/Pediatrics environments
• Professional communication skills and ability to document in Cerner EMR

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and critical care respiratory therapy
• Experience with GE R860 adult ventilators and Draeger infant/peds ventilators
• Familiarity with Newport HT70 transport ventilator and V60 non-invasive ventilation
• Hands-on with high-flow oxygen devices such as Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Proficient documentation and charting in Cerner EMR
• Ability to manage variable patient ratios and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
