Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, feeding, and hygiene assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility to promote independence
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate effectively with the care team
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
- Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity and high-quality patient care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of New Mexico
- Hands-on patient care experience preferred but new CNAs are welcome to apply
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork-first attitude
- Basic ability to lift and assist patients per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental patient care skills: ADLs, ambulation, and transfer assistance
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- Time management and reliable attendance for scheduled shifts
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in an overnight/night shift care environment
