Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical unit patients on night shift
• Monitor and manage complex devices and therapies such as wound VACs and chest tubes
• Document thoroughly and accurately using Meditech EMR and manage medications via Pyxis
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios (Medical: 1:8 nights)
• Float to assigned units (Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit) as needed to support patient care
• Participate in unit orientation and department-specific training to ensure continuity of care
• Adhere to professional nursing attire and unit dress code while representing the facility

Qualifications

• Active RN license for the State of Hawaii required by start of assignment
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2-10 years of medical unit nursing experience preferred
• Night shift experience and the ability to work various shift lengths and days
• Proof of flu vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption required prior to contract start
• Comfortable floating to other units (Laulima, Cardiovascular) and adapting to different team workflows

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech EMR for clinical documentation
• Experience using Pyxis medication systems
• Skilled in wound VAC management and chest tube care
• Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to work independently on night shift while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing shift lengths and unit assignments
