Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients.
• Assess and continuously monitor patient condition, interpreting data and trends.
• Administer medications and titrate infusions safely according to orders and protocols.
• Operate and manage ventilators and advanced monitoring equipment.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in code or rapid response situations.
• Educate patients and families about care plans, treatment goals, and transitions.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California or compact RN license where applicable.
• Prior ICU experience preferred; strong critical care background a plus.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or obtainable upon hire.
• Current ACLS/BLS certifications and ability to maintain required credentials.
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently on per diem assignments.

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• BSN preferred but not strictly required for per diem roles.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment in acute/critical care settings.
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Proficiency with IV infusions, titratable drips, and central line care.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple complex patients.
