Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population
• Triage patients efficiently and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using evidence-based practices
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in Cerner to ensure continuity and safety
• Operate and monitor bedside equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient flow and disposition
• Coach peers and give constructive feedback in real time to support team development
• Maintain excellent patient experience standards (AIDET, respectful communication, board updates)

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state required or compact state eligibility as applicable
• Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience; at least 1 year of ER experience required
• Experience in Level 2 trauma centers, comprehensive stroke centers, and high-volume EDs preferred
• Certifications required prior to start or per policy: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable floating to all sections within the ED and working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide feedback

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of emergency nursing principles and patient triage
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and infusion devices (Baxter pumps, GE monitors)
• Ability to manage high patient ratios (typical 4:1; up to 7:1 on behavioral holds)
• Excellent communication skills and cultural competence for a multi-cultural community
• Ability to maintain calm under pressure and prioritize effectively
