Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in the outpatient/ambulatory clinic to ensure high-quality patient care
• Lead and direct clinic staff to maintain efficient front-desk and patient-care operations
• Maintain medication inventory and supplies not managed by the warehouse PAR system
• Perform and verify quality control checks for point-of-care testing
• Document all care and services clearly and accurately in a timely manner
• Oversee opening and closing procedures for the clinic
• Assist providers and anticipate their needs to support efficient, quality care
• Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate patient care
• Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment
• Participate in annual competencies, in-services and mandatory training

Qualifications

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license — must have or obtain Alaska RN license by time of submission
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Flu vaccination required prior to or upon hire
• Clinical competency to be demonstrated within 3 months of hire and every three years
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year acute care experience preferred
• 6 months addiction services experience preferred
• Willingness to schedule fingerprinting promptly to meet SEARHC processing timelines
• Ability to perform physical duties including frequent standing/walking and lifting up to 50 lbs

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of the nursing process and ability to apply it in an ambulatory setting
• Customer service principles and strong patient communication skills
• Safety and infection control best practices
• Skills in patient assessment, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
• Comfort using computers and standard medical equipment
• Strong documentation/charting skills
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced clinic
• Teamwork and leadership skills for guiding clinic staff
