Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and occupational needs to create person-centered plans
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support meaningful daily activities
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve independence and safety
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and the care team to coordinate comprehensive care
• Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely to support quality and compliance
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home modifications
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental changes to maximize independence
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continued support

Qualifications

• Clinical experience in Occupational Therapy (travel or facility experience a plus)
• Current or compact OT license appropriate for practice in the assignment state (confirm state requirements)
• NBCOT certification preferred or eligibility to obtain certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills
• Professional demeanor with excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or entry-level OT degree as required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessments and intervention planning
• Proficient with adaptive equipment recommendations and training
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical outcome measures
• Able to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
• Patient-centered approach with solid clinical judgment
• Good time management and caseload prioritization abilities
