Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the unit by setting clear expectations, coaching staff, and promoting a positive team culture
• Coordinate patient care and daily operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and on-call coverage to maintain consistent clinical coverage
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and flow
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies through regular audits and education
• Mentor and develop nursing staff through feedback, performance management, and professional development

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maine (required)
• Previous experience in nursing leadership or unit management preferred
• Comfort with on-call duties and the ability to respond promptly when needed
• Strong clinical judgment, delegation skills, and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
• Current BLS; ACLS or other certifications as appropriate to the unit are a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Relevant leadership or management training is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Unit management and staff scheduling
• Patient care coordination and prioritization
• Regulatory and accreditation standards knowledge
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation best practices
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to lead through change
