Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning
- Support hygiene, feeding, and comfort needs while preserving dignity
- Document patient care accurately and communicate effectively with staff
- Promote a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (required) — must meet Connecticut state requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and any required health screenings
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and ability to work well on a team
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in basic patient care and assisting with ADLs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Understanding of infection control and patient safety practices
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
- Good time management, observation, and reporting skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong teamwork orientation
