Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with hygiene, dressing, mobility and transfers safely
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support care plans by documenting observations and care provided in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families and teammates
- Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active CNA certification in Connecticut or ability to obtain state certification
- Completion of facility onboarding and required health screenings/background checks
- Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care and ADLs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
- Comfortable with basic charting and documentation
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
