Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Step Down Unit
Assess, monitor, and document patient status using clinical judgment and telemetry monitoring
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and according to policy
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to providers
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
Experience or comfort working in a Step Down Unit / telemetry environment
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and contribute to a collaborative unit culture

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Acute care assessment and monitoring
IV therapy and medication administration
Proficient clinical documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Patient and family education with compassionate communication
Team-based collaboration and interdisciplinary coordination
