Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct resident care and support daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report meaningful changes to the nursing team
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure nutritional needs are met
- Document resident care clearly and timely in accordance with facility procedures
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver great care
- Follow infection control policies, safety protocols, and maintain a clean environment
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (required) — current or active in Connecticut preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or able to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and flexibility to meet shift needs
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- State-approved CNA training program completion and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient/resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
- Clear documentation and charting practices
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Good communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
