Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult med-surg patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate discharge planning
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate when needed
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Support unit performance expectations and uphold facility standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or eligible for compact licensure
• Med-Surg nursing experience, comfortable with adult patient populations
• Experience working 12-hour night shifts and thriving in overnight care environments
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
• Ability to start quickly for this urgent, quick-start contract

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med-surg nursing principles and adult patient care
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care basics
• Proficiency in patient assessment, documentation, and clinical charting
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients safely
• Team-oriented approach with strong collaboration and handoff skills
