Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in Med/Surg and Emergency Room settings
• Assess patients, monitor signs and symptoms, and respond to changes in condition
• Administer and document medications (including barcode scanning/eMAR) and manage IV therapy
• Perform sterile procedures and assist with examinations and treatments
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate care plans
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of information
• Assist with obstetrical and newborn care after demonstration of competence
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and help train and orient new staff

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current valid state Nursing License (eligible to practice in Nebraska)
• Current CPR certification required
• Current ACLS, TNCC, NRP and STABLE certifications required or maintained
• Experience in Med/Surg and Emergency Room nursing (experience preferred)
• Strong communication skills and commitment to ethical, patient-centered care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and barcode medication scanning / eMAR
• IV therapy and IV management
• Patient assessment and nursing care planning
• Documentation in EHR systems
• Sterile technique and infection control practices
• HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Obstetrical, LDR and newborn care (after demonstrated competence)
• Quality assurance, training, and leadership skills
